Anniversary Gift Ideas
Friday, July 29th, 2011Most of the homemade anniversary gift ideas that I came up with were every bit as bad as the ones that I saw in stores. Everywhere I looked, however, seemed to give me something that wasn't quite right. The only thing to do was to make her something that she had always wanted. I know that might sound silly, but she was overjoyed when she got it. I decided to make her a new spice rack. She absolutely adored it. It was hand made of good quality wood, well painted, well finished, and very attractive all around. It would come across a silly and sentimental, as well as badly made. I don't think she even likes jewelery, to be honest. The whole point is to show each other the love that we feel. She likes to spend time together, but she doesn't care if we do it in the formal, so-called correct way. Most of the anniversary gift ideas were pretty clich. I wasn't going to get her a Hallmark greeting card, or a wooden plaque with a cheesy poem about how much our relationship means to me. I contemplated everything. It's just that she is not one for ritual. Don't get me wrong, she loves when I pay attention to her. The funny thing is that she is not very sentimental. Once a couple marries, they usually settle into the day-to-day routine quickly. Think chocolate and exquisite cookies. In this case you might want a movie night basket that includes a few current DVD releases, microwave popcorn and two bottles of their favorite soda. Get a babysitter, if needed, and spend the night together. Besides, you can still get your favorite meal and share it at home together.
